Arriva l'estate e con due quadretti di tessuto ho realizzato questa borsettina in tessuto di arredamento di seta, adatta anche per le uscite serali, accompagnata ad un bel paio di scarpe su un vestitino fresco ed elegante.  Il manico in bamboo le dà quell'aspetto esotico ed estivo

Ma esattamente cosa  è il bamboo?

Il bamboo è una pianta sempreverde. Si possono trovare piante alte pochi centimetri, fino a piante alte 40 metri e larghe 30 metri. Il fusto è un legno cavo caratterizzato da nodi cilindrici da cui si sviluppano foglie molto sottili e dalla tipica forma a lancia. Il bamboo è molto leggero ed è sempre stato usato dall'uomo che lo ha adattato in moltissimi modi:esso è utilizzato per farne condotte d'acqua, armi, strutture per case; le piante più giovani e sottili sono piegate e modellate per farne bastoni, manici di ombrelli o manici per borse e borsoni, o oggetti ornamentali.

In Europa il bamboo viene spesso usato nei giardini a scopo ornamentale, o negli orti per sostenere le piantine di pomodoro e peperoni, in campagna fanno spesso da sostegno alle viti e con l'arrivo delle zanzare riusciamo ad ottenere delle belle torce da giardino che contengono candele alla citronella.

curiosità sulla pianta del bamboo: è una pianta che vive a lungo e da qui la scelta dei cinesi di indicarla come simbolo di lunga vita, mentre in India è il simbolo dell'amicizia.

La cosa che però la rende davvero unica è la sua rarità nel dare fioriture; pare che fiorisca ogni 28 o 60 anni (fonte: Wikipedia)
